I'm amazed at the Wildfox lookbooks. I've only recently come across the brand but i'm liking it more and more. This shoot has a playful,western theme which for some reason reminds me of the movie Holes.....do you know what i mean?

Sorry for my lack of posting, interviews and my final project are getting a bit crazy. I really need to get my own lookbook sorted out as i have so many lovely clothes to show you. Turning into Metal

For this you will need a grey nail varnish and silver (make sure it's not glitter)

1. This effect is so easy and quick. Place the grey varnish in random parts of your nail, a bit at the top and at the bottom or even in each corner of your nail.

2.Take your silver and fill in the empty space as well as dragging bits of the grey.

3. Carry on alternating between grey and silver for each nail. You should also start in another section of the nail when placing your first colour.

4. So make sure you use a pigmented silver as a glitter silver will not give a metal like effect. The colours that i used: Maxiflex Inca Silver by Collection 2000 and Grey Matter by Rimmel.

I have not stopped wearing these high waisted shorts as i showed in my OOTD. So last year i lived in a leather jacket and i've got it back out finally. Recently i've been getting mens graphic t-shirts and cutting the neck and arms off...there so comfy. I love the look of tight jeans and a baggy t-shirt it looks so effortless. For christmas i got a satchel and i could never use it as i have way to may uni books, solution - get smaller books.
( it just so happens to make an outfit )

Lost in Lace

I was set a week project at uni titled 'Lost in Lace'. We went to the exhibitions up in Birmingham where they showed amazing pieces of work inspired by lace and textiles. So for some reason i started looking at the opposites like leather, constricting things you wouldn't associate with lace and its sense of purity. So as we only had a week i wasn't thinking to extreme. I made some leather fringed shorts out of some old black jeans. To keep with the theme i made some leather cuffs with fringing and attached seven pieces of three meter length wool to each. These are a couple of shots i still need to edit, but i'm happy with the outcome and its puppet like effect.

So today I'm just doing a few jobs ...and maybe some work. I really like graphic T's at the moment and the best ones are normally in the mens section (where i found this one). So i paired it with some Armani high waisted shorts which i live in. For the past couple of months i wanted some black ankle boots that i could wear everyday and i found these made by Cavalier, i think there also sold at Kurt Geiger. But yeah so sorry with my lack of posts just had a couple of deadlines and did a shoot the other day which i WILL post this week. As you can see i got rid of the album page as i'll do a monthly post of photos that i love and are inspired by.

Versace is back at HnM

So a couple months ago Versace did a collection for HnM, by the time i knew about it everything was sold out. Tomorrow ( January 19th ) Versace is bringing out a new collection called Versace Cruise (probably not the right time). The collection is very fruity and playful and some of the men's accessories are quite nice as well. I'll post the link below.

I dont know if you guys like these sorts of post, but i'll talk about it anyway. My Uni has given us a project to follow,research and study a family member. I've picked my grandma as i thought it would be interesting to find out about the 1940's and what it was like back then. I've chosen a video as my outcome and it should be up next week sometime. So my friend is going to be my grandma when she was younger and i'll film her being all 1940's and what not. I'v even bought a wedding dress so she can reenact getting ready for the wedding, putting on her make up and everything. I hope you guys enjoy the outcome and i'm kinda exited!

What i loved in December

Right this month theres a couple of things i actually cant stop wearing. I have always loved fringing and kept seeing it everywhere!. Outside my Uni theres a little market and i saw this bag and fell in love. Its black suede with long fringing and a strap to make it into a satchel. I like to wear alot of silver jewellery and with that i'm obsessed with turquoise, so finding these pieces that incorporate that is perfect for me. So following that is this bright turquoise jumper ( on camera it looks more blue ). In winter its so easy to just pull on a jumper and this one is such a strong colour. I'm really into small prints and i found this blouse with a blue/orange/black pattern, and i have not stop wearing it. I always wear it with a jumper pulled over and the sleeves rolled up, so you can just see the blouse underneath. My best buy -black,leather,strappy wedges. I wanted wedges that i could go out in, something different and there so comfortable.

...Went for a little browse today and i found the white tuxedo jacket on sale!

Well this is my first LookBook image, its taken forever as i was a little bit scared about putting lots of pictures of myself on here. So yeah, thank you IFB for helping me and putting one of my posts on 'Links á la mode'. Since Christmas i have been lacking with posts but i promise its one of my resolutions and i've got lots of surprises.In 2012 there will be a couple of changes to the blog, i'll try not to change it to often. The Album page is full of photos that i love and things that i'm obsessed with (i didn't take the photos)...so you can just sort of see what i like at the moment..tattoos. Following that i might link it up to Tumblr as its a bit easier. Well i hope everyone has a great New year and has a better year then the last - HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Aside from wanting everything i've narrowed it down to my five favourite things. So for ages i've wanted leather look jeans/leggings, and i wanted to wear them everyday sort of thing so i went for the jeans. They look so nice on and are much warmer then leggings ( HnM £19.99). I know i'm a bit slow as everyone has the Urban Decay Naked palette, so i thought i would just go straight for the new one. There are so many reviews about it on Youtube telling you how great it is so go have a look. The colours are natural and i think more matte in the second palette which is perfect for everyday. ( Urban Decay Naked Palette £35 ). Right this is one of the things i know i wont get as its quite expensive...but i love it!. Its a black waist belt with Moschino in gold letters, i think the waist band comes in other colours. I have been starring at this for months, it keeps popping up on LookBook ( Moschino belt £209 ). All of sudden everywhere is selling woman's tuxedo jackets, its just so clean cut. Theres so many different versions of it at Zara, HnM but i love this one from Guess ( Guess jacket $108). Last is this gold and tortoise shell watch from Asos. I never wear watches mainly as i don't have one but this is chunky and such a classic piece ( Asos watch £30 ). Well yep thats my top five out of a hundred and i hope everyone gets lots and lots of presents and has a good Christmas.

December GlossyBox

I finally got my GlossyBox, i have been waiting for ages! The December box came in red which was nice and Christmasy. I was really impressed with the contents this month, was it me or did it seem like there were alot more products ?

1. Blink + Go eyeshadow and blush palette - a really nice selection of bright colours pink/blue/purple/green/white/yellow and two natural blushes. The packaging is really clean and simple, but it did take me a good couple of minutes to open the blush.

2. Deborah Lippmann Stripped to go Sachet - so these are little tiny mitts you put on the end of your finger and remove your nail varnish...they look kinda cool.

3. Rituals Foaming Shower Gel - my mum has used Ritual products for ages and they smells so good! and now i have my own.

4. Bionova Eye Wrinkle Treatment - i actually laughed when i opened this up. For some reason i thought this product would be bigger and it's actually really small, but i guess it's only for your eyes. I'm going to start using eye cream.

5. Deborah Lippmann Party Glitter Nail Colour - love the colour of this polish it's a dark pink/purple. When i went to use it though it was very thin, i thought it would be thick glitter that covered the whole nail but its more of a top coat.

6. Cargo Classic Lips Gloss - the colour is a nice light pink and its not to pigmented so it can go over colours. I love how its not sticky at all!

What is GlossyBox ? - GlossyBox is a monthly subscription where you receive cosmetic samples lipgloss,makeup,hair products ect. Its cost £10 plus postage and packing which i think is £2. I'll link the site below.

I herd about a really amazing online jewellery shop called Dollybowbow. The shop is filled with vintage/quirky accessories and a small apparel section. The main reason why i'm mesmerized is that they sell a ring very close to the one from Yve saint Laurent. So i picked the turquoise as i'm obsessed with the colour at the moment, it also comes in red/black/coral. The packaging was lovely and i'm already back on the website. Take a look...

Lisa and The Lovely Memoir

I stumbled across a blog called The Lovely Memoir a couple weeks a go. Lisa's photos and LookBook are amazing and i suggest you all take a peak. But i did do a little interview with her so you can find out a little more.

So what made you choose the title The Lovely Memoir ?

When I was trying to come up with the name for my blog, I knew I wanted the word "Memoir" in it. Memoir means a written account of someone's life; an autobiography. I knew that I was going to be making a lifestyle/fashion/beauty blog, so I thought that the word was fitting. I was going to incorporate everything from my daily life into this one blog; my own little lovely fashion memoir.

How did you get into photography?

My love for photography started at a young age, but grew even greater when I was in the yearbook committee back in high school. I was one of the yearbook photographers who went around school taking pictures of the school events. I just loved it, then one random day at a picnic my friend was throwing, my boyfriend Kevin and I picked up her DSLR camera and was playing around with it the entire time, that moment we decided we would get one of our own. In 2009 we started our company KNL Photography, and it has been a work in progress ever since.

I know in California it's not as cold as England but what are your three winter essentials ?

California is warm, but it can get quite cold during the fall and winter! My three winter essentials has got to be scarves, leather boots, and trench coats. Winter has become my favorite season because of all of the style possibilities!

Any winter beauty products you would recommend?

I would definitely recommend a good moisturizer! My skin gets so parched in the winter that I need a really good simple moistureiser. The one that I’m using right now is called Clinique: Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion. I would also recommend a nice bronzer like Mac’s Refined Golden, just a brush of that on the sides of my face and down my nose and I feel like I have a sun kissed glow all year round.

Your all time favourite shop ?

I love to shop at Urban Outfitters, H&M, Forever 21, and Zaras. For my online shopping, I like to shop at ASOS. I also love to go thrift shopping. I think it’s really fun to go and find amazing pieces for a low price.

How did you spend your Black Friday?

I actually spent it shopping for tvs and computer monitors! I’m not a very lucky person when it comes to huge sale days like Black Friday. The malls get kind of crazy with all of the people shoving and pushing their ways into the aisles. But I shop on a daily basis, so I don’t really mind.

What did you think about the Versace collection at H&M ?

I thought the collection was gorgeous. I especially loved the jewelry and the belts! Did you see the gold belt? It was beautiful!

Who is your style icon ?

My style icons are: Audrey Hepburn, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, and Coco Chanel. They are all beautiful, elegant, and chic.

So how are you going to spend Christmas?

I’m so excited for Christmas! I will be spending it with my family, going to Christmas mass, then having a huge dinner.

Any traditions?

Going to Christmas Mass is something that we do every year. I love this time of year when the entire family gets together and enjoys each other's company.

What do you hope for The Lovely Memoir in 2012?

Oh gosh, I’m so happy with the direction I’m going toward with The Lovely Memoir. I’m so happy that I have been getting such a positive response. I mainly blog for fun and to share awesome things that I find interesting. I hope to continue to do so in 2012.

Dear Santa

A little bit of Christmas

1.For this you will need a red,white,pink nail polish,paint brush and a marker.

2. Give your nails two coats of red except the one your turning into Santa.

3. Place masking tape 1/4 down your nail. Paint the upper section with red polish, going across the nail.

4.Once that is dry take an angled paint brush and draw a small white line under the red. Fill in the bottom of your nail as if you were doing a french manicure, going up at the sides.

5. Place two pink dots in the middle of your nail for the cheeks.

6.To finish with a marker place two dots for eyes.

The costume designer from "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" has collaborated and created a small collection at H&M. It consists of torn jeans,leather jackets and hoodies of very dark shades.

The collection is small but i've found a couple of things that i like. I have been wanting some leather trousers for ages! and H&M haves loads. The t-shirts are simple but for some reason i really like them, especial the white tank top with writing round the neck. Apart from that some of the items are a little edgy but as a whole its nice collection.

Bed Head

I made a little tutorial on that messy,effortless just got out of bed look.

1.You will need a round brush,hairdryer, heat protector spray and some shine spray.

2. So obviously wash your hair and towel dry( don't forget to add heat protector).

3.Start blow drying your hair while flipping it side to side.

4. Right now do a little dance swinging your head back and forth as this will get hot air to the roots creating volume.

5. Quickly blast it with some cold air for a couple of seconds.

6.Wrap it up in a loose bun on the top of your head.

7. Last tussle your hair with your fingers separating the waves.

I've been trying out make up for the futuristic shoot. Pat Mcgath does amazing make up, so i tried to replicate some of her work and do some of my own. I'm actually quite exited to shoot this and put it all together. Yes one day i will eventually get my LookBook up.

Futuristic Shoot

So i've just started styling at Uni and we have to do a shoot as our outcome. I chose to go with a futuristic/minimal theme. So i'm looking at people like Dean Sidaway and making a shoulder piece which you will see in the final outcome. The model will have just plain black/white clothes and very bright makeup. I managed to borrow this stunning Valentino dress ... which i might try on myself.

Messy Bow

Ages ago in a magazine i saw a model with her hair in a bow and it wasn't one of those clip in ones. So since then i have been trying to figure out how to do it and i think i found a way. I know its messy but i kind of like it ... ( i'll put it on Primp )

1. Make sure your hair is dry and straighten before you start.

2.Tie up in a high ponytail with a thin hair tie or matching to your hair colour.

3.Tie up the ponytail once more but pull it halfway through.

4.Pull out a small section of hair from the top,near the band.

5. Part under the section you pulled out. Take the strand and wrap it round the base of your ponytail, pin it with a bobby pin.

6.Finish with some shine spray. You can make this as messy or as neat as you want.

So this was the shoot i did of my friend for Uni the other day. I posted a photo of the clothes and everything on the homepage if you want to take a look. Making her run through the woods was so funny as people kept walking by, so all those shots were of her laughing. I know everyones going to get out their fur coats this winter so i thought i would include one. The whole thing ended up being based round the knitted jumper which was not intended but the photos came out really well.

Autumn Shoot

I'm doing a shoot for Uni tomorrow so this is a little taster. Inspired by a Winter / Autumn 1940s look, blouses,high wasted shorts and a big fur coat. I'll be shooting my friend so hopefully i'll get the photos up soon .

Autumn Ombre

1. Ok so you will need four or five shades of polish from the same colour group, you might want to line them up and put them in order. If you do have five then you can miss out step 4.

2. With the lightest shade start at the thumb with ( 2x coats for all nails ).

3. Paint the second nail in the second lightest colour.

4. To create an even Ombre effect you need the colours to fade into each other. Take two drops of the last colour you used and mix together with two drops of the colour your about to use ( Mix on paper ).

5. Make sure the colour you just mixed is even, a shade between both polishes.

6. Taking the dark colour you used ( second darkest ) coat your ring finger.

7. And then use your darkest colour for last.

Dear Bloggies,

So i'm going to start a fashion blog just filled with things i like,style,hair,tutorials,photography. I know its very new and boring but just wait because i'm going to work on it. So this year i'm doing a foundation in art in London and hopefully get on to the Styling course next year. I love vintage,chunky silver jewellery, baggy knitted jumpers to be honest i'm very open to alot of fashion styles. So i hope you like this and you will learn i am appalling at writing, which dosen't really help.
